It wasn't pretty. It wasn't supposed to be. On a wet, windy Sunday at MetLife Stadium, New York beat Tennessee 12–7 without finding the end zone. Some wins are a statement. This one was a test of patience.
The defense delivered the final word
The Titans had one last chance to steal it, driving deep into Giants territory in the closing seconds. Jevón Holland ended that threat with an interception in the end zone. In a game where every yard felt expensive, the defense made the play that mattered most.
Rookie linebacker Arvell Reese was everywhere, finishing with 13 tackles. The unit bent late, but it did not break. After the frustration of the previous week, that resilience is worth carrying forward.
Four kicks, one win
Dominic Zvada supplied every New York point, going four-for-four on field goals. The rookie has opened his NFL career six-for-six. That kind of composure in difficult conditions deserves its own spotlight, even if four field goals also tell the story of an offense that needs more.
With Jaxson Dart sidelined, Jameis Winston led an attack that found enough movement to create chances but could not finish a drive with a touchdown. Cam Skattebo brought physicality, and the running game gave New York a foothold. The next step is turning possession and field position into six points, not three.
What comes next
New York is 2–1 and hosts Arizona next. The record looks better after a gritty Sunday, but the assignment is clear: keep the defensive edge and make life easier on it. The margin for error will not always be this forgiving.
Take the 2–1 record. Keep the defensive edge. Find the end zone.
